Job Description
Role Description:

The primary functions of the Risk specialist will involve reporting, and data analysis, infrastructure development and testing, and ad-hoc project work. This is an excellent opportunity for an intellectually curious and motivated individual to learn about various hedge fund and private credit investment strategies and more specifically risk management in a hands-on, collaborative team at a world-class investment firm.

As a Risk Specialist you will:

• Review the various sensitivities/risk measures as part of our overnight risk calculation processes, and identify and troubleshoot any outliers and missing values in conjunction with Risk IT, Data Strategy, Middle-Office etc.
• Prepare data and analysis in response to data requests to the Risk team (e.g. investor requests)
• Test new analytics and reports for data quality, accuracy, etc. and collaborate with other members of the Risk team in designing new tools and reports
• Leverage Python/SQL while working on projects involving research and data analysis in support of risk management and front office functions (e.g., market updates and trend analysis, performance attribution, waterfall reconciliations, cashflow model updates)
• Support the broader risk team with preparing the quarterly regulatory reports (Opera, Form PF, AIFMD) and take the lead in further automating the process
• Support the team by automating existing Excel internal risk reports
• Help in building out a library of Risk data SQL queries that can be leveraged across the team
• Develop an understanding of the firm's investment strategies and corresponding risk management approaches
• Closely collaborate with other teams (e.g. Data Strategy, Technology, Marketing, Middle and Back Office) on cross-functional projects

Skills Required

• 2-5 years of experience in Risk and Fluency in Excel, SQL, VBA; fluency in Python is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Willingness to participate and help in all tasks. An eager and positive attitude is a must. This role is a great opportunity to grow into a risk professional role at a leading Hedge Fund.
• Intellectually curious and driven. Interest in financial markets and investment management.

Academic Requirements

• Undergrad degree in a quantitative discipline with a strong interest in finance OR non- quantitative discipline with CFA/FRM certification
