Job Description Summary
The Lead Systems Engineer – Power Electronics is responsible for the strategic technical leadership and system-level design of cutting-edge power electronic solutions in support of assigned projects and product development initiatives. This role ensures the successful integration, validation, and optimization of power electronic systems, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to deliver high-performance, reliable, and cost-effective solutions. The role will specifically focus on the design and optimization of existing 6/12/24 pulse power converters for CSI (Current Source Inverter) applications and multi-bridge excitation systems up to 10,000A DC, primarily used in power generation applications.

Ce rôle garantit l'intégration, la validation et l'optimisation réussies des systèmes d'électronique de puissance, en collaboration avec des équipes multidisciplinaires et des partenaires externes, afin de fournir des solutions performantes, fiables et économique.Ce poste se concentrera sur la conception et l'optimisation des convertisseurs de puissance à impulsions 6/12/24 existants pour les applications d'onduleurs de courant (CSI) et les systèmes d'excitation multi-ponts jusqu'à A CC, principalement utilisés dans les applications de production d'énergie.

Job Description

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the system architecture, design, and integration of advanced power electronic subsystems (e.g., converters, inverters, rectifiers) for industrial and energy applications.
  • Oversee the development, modelling, and simulation of system-level behaviours, including electrical, thermal, mechanical, and control aspects.
  • Possess knowledge on Have knowledge on device characteristics (such as IGBTs and SCRs), test, and certification of components.
  • Have ability to define comprehensive technical requirements, specifications, and controls interface documentation for power electronic systems,
  • Coordinate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to ensure seamless system integration and compliance with project requirements.
  • Strong understanding of electrical machines and their integration with power electronic systems.
  • Ability to assess in detail the THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) calculations and implement mitigation actions to minimize harmonic distortion in power systems.
  • Conduct technical reviews, design validation, and root-cause analysis for system-level issues.
  • Manage risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and reliability analyses for power electronics projects.
  • Support supplier selection, technical negotiations, and collaboration with external technology partners.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and internal quality policies.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
  • Prepare and present detailed technical documentation, system specifications, and progress reports to stakeholders.
  • Investigate and assess the latest newer technologies such as application of silicon carbide or related latest device technologies to reduce THD and improve performance of the systems.

  • Superviser le développement, la modélisation et la simulation des comportements système, notamment les aspects électriques, thermiques, mécaniques et de contrôle.
  • Maîtriser les caractéristiques des composants (IGBT, SCR, etc.), leurs tests et leur certification.
  • Être capable de définir des exigences techniques complètes, des spécifications et une documentation d'interface de contrôle pour les systèmes d'électronique de puissance.
  • Assurer la coordination avec les équipes matérielles, logicielles et micrologicielles afin de garantir une intégration système optimale et la conformité aux exigences du projet.
  • Solide compréhension des machines électriques et de leur intégration aux systèmes d'électronique de puissance.
  • Capacité à évaluer en détail les calculs de distorsion harmonique totale (THD) et à mettre en œuvre des actions correctives pour minimiser la distorsion harmonique dans les réseaux électriques.
  • Réalisation de revues techniques, de validations de conception et d'analyses des causes profondes des problèmes au niveau du système et gestion des évaluations des risques, des stratégies d'atténuation et des analyses de fiabilité pour les projets d'électronique de puissance.
  • Support à la sélection des fournisseurs, aux négociations techniques et à la collaboration avec les partenaires technologiques externes.
  • Garantie de la conformité de toutes les activités d'ingénierie aux normes industrielles, aux réglementations et aux politiques qualité internes en vigueur.
  • Encadrement et accompagnement des ingénieurs juniors, en favorisant l'excellence technique et le partage des connaissances.
  • Préparer et présenter aux parties prenantes une documentation technique détaillée, les spécifications système et des rapports d'avancement.
  • Étudier et évaluer les technologies les plus récentes, telles que l'utilisation du carbure de silicium ou d'autres technologies de pointe, afin de réduire le taux de distorsion harmonique (THD) et d'améliorer les performances des systèmes.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical engineering, Power Electronics, Controls Engineering or related field.
  • Relevant experience in power electronics system design, integration, or development.
  • Proficiency in simulation and modelling tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, SPICE).
  • Strong understanding of power electronic devices, topologies, and control strategies.
  • Experience with regulatory standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE) relevant to power electronics applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and ability to manage multiple priorities
