Job Accountabilities

  • Maximize reliability and availability of systems at site through continuous improvement techniques, upgradation, projects, and implementation of advanced diagnostics.
  • Conduct performance monitoring and benchmarking of site instrumentation systems. Weekly monitoring and control of maintenance KPIs of instrumentation.
  • Implement and provide inputs to standardize best practices, group guidelines, and lessons from incidents (LFIs) for reliability improvement specific to plant instrumentation systems. Govern plant asset renewal plan and obsolescence management.
  • Follow and enforce applicable HSEF procedures, practices, and Group Safety Standards.
  • Participate in reliability and integrity studies as identified.
  • Review and validate Capex/MOC-T proposals for the plant. Support major activities, minor projects, plant expansions, modifications, and major turnarounds.
  • Lead troubleshooting for resolution of major and critical failures/issues. Generate LFIs and alerts based on major failures and safety incidences.
  • Carry out troubleshooting and support for major and critical failures/issues at site, resulting in reduction of production loss.
  • Support knowledge management and documentation management.
  • Responsible for plant maintenance cost budgeting and optimization of resources.
  • Plan and organize jobs during turnaround/shutdown services.
  • Identify training needs for subordinates and support competency and skill development.
  • Carry out inspection, quality assurance, maintenance, and safety audits as required.
  • Interaction with customs and excise department for expediting outgoing material in case of urgency and IMMS group for expediting codification of urgent items.
  • Review and maintain IMS documents.
  • Release material and service PR and follow up.
  • Interaction with various support services such as Human Resource, Administration, Workshop, Planning, Security.
  • Coordinate with CES Instrumentation for technical support and inputs.
  • Manage instrumentation inventory to stay within specified norms and inventory targets.
  • Facilitate instrumentation contractor management.

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of best maintenance practices, energy conservation measures, and project management.
  • Manage and lead a team of instrumentation engineers with strong troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Domain knowledge of Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Knowledge of RCA techniques, Reliability Centered Maintenance, and FMEA reliability tools.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Managing ambiguity.
  • Teaming, leading, and developing people.
  • Decision making, strategic direction, and managing change.
  • Understanding of various cross-functional knowledge areas.
  • Knowledge of SAP PM/MM modules.
  • Familiarity with applicable guidelines, codes, standards, and legislations.
  • Good communication skills.

Education

Candidate should have B.E./M.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering (Full Time).
