Head – Project Management Office (PMO) | Greenfield Steel Plant

Location: Initially Pune, then relocation to Dhenkanal, Odisha

Experience: 20+ Years

We are hiring a seasoned leader to head the PMO for a prestigious greenfield integrated steel plant project (capacity: 0.67 MTPA, specialty steel) in Odisha.

This is a mission-critical role for managing the entire project lifecycle – from initiation to commissioning – covering BOF, EAF, SMS, Sinter Plant, Blast Furnace, and Rolling Mills.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end project delivery for a ₹1000+ Cr. steel plant project.

Prepare and manage detailed project plans including scope, schedule, cost, risk, safety, quality, and communication.

Oversee all PMO functions: vendor coordination, technical tendering, bid evaluation, procurement, and contract management.

Drive cross-functional collaboration across EPCs, OEMs, consultants, and government agencies.

Implement best practices using tools like Primavera, SAP, MS Project, etc.

Build and lead the project team including hiring, training, performance management, and safety compliance.

Ensure timely reporting to leadership and stakeholders with focus on project health and governance.

Must-Have Skills

15+ years of proven experience in greenfield industrial projects, preferably steel or heavy engineering.

Strong technical knowledge of BOF, EAF, SMS, Sinter Plant, Blast Furnace, and Rolling Mills.

Demonstrated expertise in EPC interface management, safety protocols, and contract administration.

Hands-on with Primavera, SAP, or MS Projects.

Exceptional stakeholder management, team leadership, and conflict resolution capabilities.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Has successfully led industrial projects of over ₹1000 Cr. scale.

Experienced working with global consultants, OEMs, and government regulators.

Strong focus on safety (zero accident approach), timelines, and quality control.

Open to relocating to Odisha post initial planning phase in Pune.

Education: B.E. /
B.Tech
in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering

Certification: PMP is mandatory
