Job Summary
The Storekeeper is responsible for the efficient and systematic management of all inventory, supplies, equipment, and materials used by the institution's departments, labs, and administrative offices. The primary goal is to ensure continuous availability of resources necessary for teaching, research, and daily operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Inventory and Stock Management
Receiving Goods: Accept, unpack, and verify incoming deliveries of educational supplies (e.g., textbooks, stationery, chemicals, IT peripherals, sports equipment) against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Organization and Storage: Store materials safely and systematically, assigning location codes and ensuring proper handling
- Issuance: Fulfill material requests from teachers, lab technicians, students, and administrative staff, ensuring all issuances are properly documented and authorized.
Stock Control: Conduct regular physical inventories (cycle counts) and full annual stock takes to maintain accurate stock records and reconcile discrepancies.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using the institution's inventory management system or ERP software.
- Generate reports on consumption rates for budgeting purposes, identifying fast-moving, slow-moving, or obsolete supplies.
Process and file all documentation, including Goods Received Notes (GRN) and Material Requisition Forms (MRF).
Safety and Compliance
Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols for the storage and handling of all materials, particularly in science laboratories (e.g., proper ventilation, segregation of incompatible chemicals).
- Maintain the storehouse in a clean, orderly, and secure manner to prevent loss or damage.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Garudate in labarotary science or equalent qualification.
- Experience: Freshers with certifications also can apply
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using computerized inventory/stock management systems and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Soft Skills: High level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, integrity, and excellent communication skills for dealing with faculty and students.
- Female candidates prefered
Kindly understand that work will be allocated in shifts as by which management requires.
