We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Backend Engineer with strong expertise in building secure, scalable, and high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in eCommerce platforms, financial technology (Banking-as-a-Service), and cloud-native architectures. This role requires solid knowledge of security frameworks (SOC2, PCI compliance, InfoSec best practices), AWS cloud infrastructure, and cryptographic hashing algorithms, along with strong proficiency in modern backend programming languages and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using , , , Postgres DB, and TypeScript.
  • Build APIs and microservices for eCommerce platforms and Banking-as-a-Service integrations.
  • Ensure performance, scalability, and maintainability of backend applications.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement best practices in information security, SOC2 compliance, and data privacy.
  • Integrate PCI partner software for secure payments and compliance.
  • Develop secure authentication, authorization, and data encryption mechanisms.

Cloud & Infrastructure

  • Architect and manage solutions on AWS (Lambda, EC2, RDS, S3, API Gateway, etc.).
  • Optimize system performance, availability, and fault tolerance.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for production systems.

Data & Cryptography

  • Use hashing algorithms and encryption techniques for secure data handling.
  • Work with sensitive data (PII, financial transactions) and ensure secure storage/processing.

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Work closely with front-end, DevOps, and product teams to deliver end-to-end features.
  • Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and technical documentation.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.

Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years in software development, including 5+ years in blockchain development.
  • Programming & Frameworks: , , , Postgres DB, TypeScript (experience with other languages like Python, Go, or Java is a plus).
  • Cloud: Strong hands-on experience with AWS (IAM, EC2, ECS, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, etc.).
  • Security & Compliance: Knowledge of SOC2, PCI DSS, and general information security best practices.
  • Fintech & eCommerce: Experience with Banking-as-a-Service integrations and eCommerce transaction flows.
  • APIs: RESTful API and GraphQL development, integration with third-party systems.
  • Cryptography: Strong understanding of hashing algorithms (SHA, bcrypt, Argon2, etc.) and encryption.
  • Architecture: Experience with microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Previous experience in fintech, eCommerce, or payments platforms.
  • Hands-on knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience working in regulated environments (financial services, security-sensitive industries).
  • Contributions to open-source or fintech/eCommerce communities.
