About the Role

You'll turn pump concepts into manufacturable, serviceable designs. The role centers on 3D modeling, detailing, and complete drawing packages (GA, cross-sections, assemblies, service drawings) aligned with our Design Department structure.

Key Responsibilities

• Create accurate
  3D models
  of components and full pump assemblies (PP/PVDF/PFA/PE-UHMW parts, metal fitments, fasteners, seals, bearings, bases).
• Produce complete
  2D manufacturing drawings
  with dimensions, tolerances (GD&T), surface finishes, and machining notes.
• Prepare
  GA (General Arrangement) drawings
  ,
  cross-sections
  ,
  exploded/assembly drawings
  , and
  service/maintenance drawings
  with BoM callouts.
• Generate and maintain
  BOMs
  and
  part codes
  aligned with internal standards (ISO-style coding, rev control).
• Apply
  DFM/DFA
  principles; incorporate standard norms (ISO 2858, 9906 2B—where applicable).
• Collaborate with
  Product Development
  ,
  Manufacturing Design
  ,
  Documentation & Standards
  , and
  Test & Validation
  teams for releases, proto builds, and ECR/ECO changes.
• Support
  tolerance stack-ups
  , fits & clearances for rotating components; ensure interchangeability across variants.
• Participate in
  design reviews
  , QAP/test readiness, and respond to NCR/field feedback with quick design updates.
• Maintain data integrity in PLM/ERP (revisioning, drawing registers, article codes).

Must-Have Qualifications

• Diploma/BE/ME in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).
• 2–6 years
  of relevant CAD experience (exceptional freshers with strong portfolios may be considered).
• Proficiency in
  SolidWorks
  .
• Strong command of
  GD&T
  , limits & fits, fasteners, bearings, seals, O-rings, and fabrication/machining processes.
• Experience preparing
  clear, shop-ready drawings
  and
  service manuals/illustrations
  .

Good to Have

• Experience in
  centrifugal/chemical process pumps
  , impeller/volute parts, bases, and alignments.
• Exposure to
  plastics/non-metallic MOC
  (PP, PVDF, PFA, PE-UHMW) and corrosion-resistant design.
• Familiarity with
  CFD/FEA
  interfaces (providing geometry, reading reports).
• Basic knowledge of
  ISO 9001
  documentation, QAPs, and test standards (ISO 9906).

Tools & Platforms

• SolidWorks / Inventor, AutoCAD
• PDM/PLM (e.g., SolidWorks PDM)
• MS Office/Google Workspace; ERP/MRP for BoM & routing (nice to have)

Soft Skills

• Detail-oriented, disciplined revision control.
• Clear technical communication; clean drawing annotation and conventions.
• Team player across design → manufacturing → testing → service.

Reporting & Interfaces

• Reports to:
  Head – Design & R&D
• Works with:
  Product Development Engineers, Manufacturing Design Engineers, Documentation & Standards Engineer, Test & Validation Engineer, and Production/QA teams.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Drawing first-time-right (FTR) ≥ 95%
• On-time release rate ≥ 95%
  vs. project plan
• Change turnaround time
  for ECR/ECO within agreed SLA
• Shop/Service defect tickets
  attributable to drawings ≤ target
• BOM accuracy
  and revision discipline (audit score)
