Reports To: Site Manager / Project Manager

Job Purpose

Assist in managing materials, tools, and equipment at the construction site/store, ensuring proper receipt, storage, issue, and record-keeping of inventory to support smooth project operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Material Handling & Storage
  • Receive, check, and verify materials delivered to the site/store against purchase orders and delivery challans.
  • Ensure proper storage of construction materials, tools, and equipment to prevent damage or loss.
  • Label and organize materials systematically for easy identification and retrieval.
  • Inventory Management
  • Maintain up-to-date stock registers (manual or ERP-based) for all materials.
  • Track daily material inflow and outflow, and update records accurately.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and physical verification.
  • Material Issuance
  • Issue materials to site teams based on material requisition slips.
  • Ensure correct quantity and quality of materials are issued to prevent wastage.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain proper records of GRN (Goods Receipt Note), MRN (Material Requisition Note), and other store documents.
  • Submit daily/weekly stock reports to Store In-Charge/Project Manager.
  • Assist in reconciliation of stock with accounts and procurement teams.
  • Compliance & Safety
  • Follow safety protocols in handling and storing hazardous materials.
  • Ensure the store area is kept clean, organized, and secured.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of construction materials and inventory practices.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Excel, ERP software preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 12th / Diploma in Civil or relevant field.
  • 3 years + of experience in store/inventory management, preferably in construction.
