Role Overview

The BIM Manager (MEP) will oversee the end-to-end BIM lifecycle of complex building projects, focusing on HVAC and piping systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership in multi-disciplinary BIM coordination, and client-facing communication for European-standard projects using BIM 360 and related collaboration tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage BIM implementation throughout the project—from setup and modeling to coordination, validation, and delivery.
  • Supervise and guide BIM modellers and coordinators in developing accurate MEP (HVAC & Piping) models aligned with project standards and client expectations.
  • Coordinate design integration across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines using Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360.
  • Establish BIM Execution Plans (BEP), modelling protocols, and quality control procedures for design deliverables.
  • Conduct regular clash detection, model audits, and technical reviews to ensure model integrity and compliance with European standards (CIBSE, EN, ISO
  • Collaborate directly with European clients and consultants to ensure project requirements, timelines, and deliverables are fully met.
  • Maintain project documentation on BIM 360, ensuring smooth information flow and version control across distributed teams.
  • Coordinate multi-team workflows between internal teams, international collaborators, and contractors during design and construction stages.
  • Provide mentoring and technical support to the BIM modelling teams, ensuring skill development and adherence to best practices.
  • Support tender documentation, quantity extraction, and model-based coordination for project presentations and technical submissions.

Qualifications and Skill

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in BIM for MEP systems, with specialization in HVAC and piping.
  • Proven experience managing European-standard projects and familiarity with EU codes, standards, and environmental norms.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (MEP), Navisworks, BIM 360, and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills for client engagement and cross-discipline collaboration.
  • Understanding of ISO 19650 and BIM Level 2 standards.
  • Experience with cloud-based collaboration, model federation, and data coordination workflows.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, ensure model consistency, and deliver high-quality outputs within schedule.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in mission-critical facilities such as data centers, healthcare, or industrial projects within the EU region.
  • Certification in BIM Management (RICS, buildingSMART, Autodesk Certified Professional).
  • Experience in automation tools such as Dynamo or Revit API for model efficiency.
  • Exposure to sustainable design practices and energy modeling standards adopted in Europe.
