Job Description

Job purpose: Sage Intacct is seeking a **Senior Performance Engineer** to join our high-performing team. This is an **individual contributor** role focused on ensuring our cloud-based financial management software delivers exceptional performance and scalability. You will collaborate cross-functionally with development, QA, and product management to drive performance improvements across the platform.

*** This is a hybrid position - working 3 days a week from our Bangalore office. ***

Key Responsibilities

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  • Design, develop, and execute performance test plans and scripts using LoadRunner and JMeter to evaluate application scalability and responsiveness

  • Analyse and troubleshoot performance issues, identify bottlenecks, and provide actionable recommendations for optimization

  • Profile application and system performance using APM tools such as New Relic and Dynatrace to proactively detect and resolve issues

  • Collaborate with development, QA, and product management teams to integrate performance engineering best practices throughout the software lifecycle

  • Develop and maintain performance testing frameworks and contribute to the continuous improvement of performance engineering methodologies

  • Generate comprehensive performance analysis reports and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Contribute to the automation of manual tasks through Unix shell scripting and other scripting languages as needed

  • Support infrastructure performance initiatives involving PHP and Kubernetes (K8s), providing guidance on performance implications and optimizations.

Technical / professional qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in performance engineering or a similar role.

  • Expertise in LoadRunner scripting, test execution, analysis, and framework development.

  • Hands-on experience with JMeter for performance and load testing.

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with development, QA, and product management teams.

  • Proficiency with APM tools such as New Relic, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics for profiling and monitoring application performance.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and performance tuning.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Skills, know-how and experience:

· Core expertise in Load runner/ Jmeter scripts/ performance test scenarios (expertise and must) · Expertise and experience in designing, creating, troubleshooting and maintaining complex Load runner/ Jmeter scripts (expertise)

  • Excellent in Load runner/ Jmeter scripts, performance test scenarios and analysis, providing hotspot issues

  • Experience in working in complex framework driven performance development

  • Good to have performance centre/load runner enterprise working experience

  • Excellent individual contributor as well as team player in completing the assigned tasks.
