Junior Researcher for an Archive Creation Project

Key Responsibilities

· Assist in identifying, cataloguing, and archiving interview recordings (audio-visual formats), transcripts (in Marathi in English) , photographs, and related materials.

· Conduct background research on individuals, events, and institutions relevant to the project.

· Support in preparing interview briefs and metadata documentation.

· Maintain digital and physical filing systems in line with institutional archiving standards.

· Translate and transcribe materials between Marathi and English with accuracy and cultural sensitivity.

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Excellent command of Marathi and English (both written and spoken).

· Strong research and documentation skills, with attention to detail.

· Prior experience of atleast 2-3 yrs (academic or professional) in archiving, research, or documentation projects.

· Familiarity with metadata creation, digital archiving tools, and transcription processes preferred.

· Ability to handle sensitive material with discretion and integrity.

· Good organizational and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
