Team Lead, Local Search

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in software development and with data structures/algorithms.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
• Experience working on ML, Gen-AI and Information Retrieval problems.
• Experience in leading a team that takes experimental systems from a prototype stage to a working product.
• Experience working across the stack (e.g., Front-end, serving backends, data pipelines, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers and offer clarity with planning, designs, execution and mentor them. Take responsibility for large technical problems that span multiple teams/components and systematically lead the team to solve them.
• Build strong partnerships across product area and across functions (Geo, GPay, Shopping Merchants), align on the problems/solutions, manage stakeholders, and drive progress.
• Understand the technical nuances and zoom-out to connect the technical dots between teams and help the team solve complex technical problems in this space.
• Learn and adapt quickly and stay on top of all the changes/progress happening.
