Job Summary: Responsible for preparing the designs of the overhead Transmission line Towers for pre-bid phase and contract execution phase.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Pre-Bid Design:

  • Prepare the Technical Abstract.
  • Prepare technical quarries.
  • Develop tower & Foundation design and drawings require in the tender submission.
  • Review the tower and foundation designs & getting approval from Client.

Execution of Contract:

  • Prepare the design calculation of the structure and foundation for the Towers
  • Preparation of sag tension calculation
  • Develop final key line for the Transmission tower structure
  • Develop foundation drawings for Tower structure
  • Review the detail structural and fabrication drawing prepared by the draftsman
  • Review the vendor drawings of the all the transmission bought out items for compatibility with Tower structures.
  • Issue the drawings to site/ client
  • Reply the comments received from client
  • Coordinate with site at the time of project execution and commissioning
  • Prepare as built drawing (Civil) after commissioning of the Line
  • Tower Profiling knowledge using PLS CADD & PLS Tower.

  • Foundations design of isolated, raft, pile foundation

  • Knowledge of civil engineering - Particularly basic knowledge of execution of transmission projects, various techniques etc

Working knowledge of

  • PLS tower and CAAD
  • itower
  • AutoCAD

Knowledge of design Codes

  • EN /BS codes
  • IEC /IS codes
  • ACI/ASCE codes
  • South African codes
  • DIN codes

Internal Customers:

  • Manager (Design)
  • Head-Engineering services
  • Supply Chain

External Customers:

External interactions required with consultant and client
