Job Purpose (Significance of the role & Objectives)

Responsible for designing and developing automated production systems — from concept to implementation — that improve efficiency, quality, and scalability of manufacturing operations. This role bridges mechanical, electrical, and control disciplines to design how machines physically and logically operate together.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Develop automation concepts for Battery assembly lines, Special process, testing, and material handling.
  • Evaluate manual processes and propose automation solutions (Material selections, robots, conveyors, jigs, etc.)
  • Prepare process flow diagrams, layout, and cycle time calculations.
  • Define specifications for PLCs, sensors, actuators, robots, and vision systems
  • Select appropriate automation components (drives, pneumatics, safety systems)
  • Work with mechanical and electrical design teams to ensure systems integrate seamlessly
  • Design control panels, wiring layouts, and interface points with existing equipment
  • Coordinate with machine builders, automation vendors, and MES/IT teams.
  • Review and approve machine designs, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), and SAT (Site Acceptance Test)
  • Analyze cycle times, bottlenecks, and implement continuous improvement
  • Support line balancing and ergonomic design
  • Prepare design documentation (BOMs, schematics, SOPs, safety validation)
  • Ensure designs meet safety and industrial standards (ISO 13849, IEC 60204, etc.).

Desired Qualifications: Required Qualification, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics / Electrical / Mechanical / Automation Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 3–7 years in industrial automation, preferably in battery pack, EV, or electronics manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of automation system design and integration.
  • Experience with PLCs, robotics, servo systems, and motion control
  • Familiarity with EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or SolidWorks, NX
  • Understanding of MES and traceability systems
  • Knowledge of safety and electrical standards
  • Project management, vendor communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and analytical thinking.
