Roles & responsibilities
Be a part of the team that is responsible for service delivery and ensure the quality and timely delivery of Independence requests.
—Research and collate required organizational information from various external and internal tools Analyze the client corporate structure, its affiliates, service line and people of the firm in order to be Independent from the Audit client with regards to different regulatory authority
—Understand the independence aspects related to acceptance of new audit clients and conflict checks
—Understand the rules and standards related to affiliate evaluation and family tree maintenance
—Use tools and techniques to perform Independence related checks on mergers and acquisition of various audit and non-audit clients.
—Ensure the work is performed with high quality and completed within agreed turnaround time
—Escalate immediately, any issues identified to the GDC Seniors, Managers and Onshore teams so that the quality and turnaround time are not impacted
—Provide clarifications, train and mentor junior associates on a timely basis on Independence related matters and concepts
—Perform upfront reviews wherever required for deliverables and as advised by the team lead
—Understand and capture comments during quality review and from onshore teams to provide feedback to junior associates
Actively get involved on business and Independence specific knowledge development initiatives at GDC
Mandatory technical & functional skills
—Fair/working knowledge of Independence rules and regulations
—
—Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including
Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Key behavioral attributes/requirements
—Willingness and capability to deliver under tight deadlines
—Critical thinking, analytical and research skills with the ability to evaluate information to make decisions
Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to details and documentation standards
