About the Role

We're looking for a seasoned Technical Lead with a proven track record in leading large, cross-functional engineering teams and driving enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate is hands-on with PHP (Laravel), React, Python, and Java, and has deep expertise in code review processes, CI/CD automation, and scalable system design.

This role is pivotal in shaping and scaling our Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Shopify-integrated applications, ensuring high availability, performance, and clean engineering governance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Lead a multi-skilled engineering team (backend, frontend, and DevOps) across multiple parallel projects.
  • Architecture & Development: Design, develop, and optimize full-stack solutions for WMS and Shopify-based systems.
  • Code Governance: Conduct rigorous code reviews, enforce clean architecture, modular design, and adherence to secure coding practices.
  • CI/CD & DevOps Ownership:Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployments.Collaborate with DevOps to implement containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code best practices.
  • Integration Expertise: Manage and extend Shopify APIs, webhooks, and third-party logistics integrations.
  • Team Management: Mentor, guide, and scale a large team of engineers — setting expectations, conducting performance reviews, and building succession depth.
  • Technical Strategy: Work with product and delivery leaders to translate business needs into scalable technical roadmaps.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement across performance, maintainability, and automation maturity.
Core Technical Skills

Essential:

  • Expert-level PHP 8+ / Laravel experience.
  • Strong proficiency with and component-based front-end architecture.
  • Practical working knowledge of Python and Java for integrations or microservices.
  • Deep understanding of RESTful API design, Shopify integration models, and data flows in WMS environments.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent).
  • Strong database design and optimization (MySQL/PostgreSQL).
  • Familiar with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Preferred:

  • Experience managing distributed teams across time zones.
  • Exposure to WMS/ERP integration or supply chain systems.
  • Working knowledge of message queues (RabbitMQ/Kafka) and microservices communication patterns.
  • Familiarity with Shopify Liquid, Headless Commerce, and GraphQL.
