A Bakery Demi-Chef de Partie (DCDP) assists the Chef de Partie in managing a specific bakery section, focusing on preparing, baking, and decorating quality breads, pastries, and desserts; maintaining strict hygiene/food safety; managing inventory/stock rotation; and potentially training junior staff, all while ensuring consistent output and supporting the head chef with new recipes and operations.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Production: Prepare and bake a variety of items (breads, cakes, pastries, desserts) following established recipes and quality standards.
  • Quality Control: Monitor food quality, presentation, and consistency, ensuring it meets company standards.
  • Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized workstation, adhering to all health, safety, and HACCP regulations.
  • Inventory: Assist with monitoring, stocking, rotating ingredients, and minimizing waste.
  • Teamwork & Training: Collaborate with the culinary team, support colleagues, and train entry-level staff (Commis chefs).
  • Equipment: Operate and maintain bakery equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
  • Innovation: Contribute to new menu items and creative recipes.
