Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled GIS Developer with over 4 years of experience to design, develop, and implement geospatial solutions using open-source technologies. The ideal candidate will have expertise in PostGIS, GeoServer, QGIS, and Python, with a strong understanding of GIS concepts and spatial data structures.

Key Responsibilities


• GIS Platform Development: Design and implement GIS applications and systems using open-source technologies like GeoServer, PostGIS, OpenLayers, and QGIS.


• Spatial Data Management: Develop and maintain geospatial databases, ensuring efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis.


• Web Mapping Solutions: Create interactive web maps and dashboards for data visualization and analysis.


• Backend Development: Develop backend services for geospatial data processing and integration.


• Technical Support: Provide technical support and training to end-users, ensuring effective utilization of GIS applications.


• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver geospatial solutions that meet business needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications


• Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Geography, Geomatics, or a related field.


• Technical Expertise:

o Proficiency in PostGIS and PostgreSQL for spatial database management.

o Experience with GeoServer for publishing geospatial data.

o Strong skills in Python for geospatial automation and analysis.

o Familiarity with QGIS for desktop GIS applications.

o Experience with web mapping libraries such as OpenLayers or Leaflet.


• Additional Skills:

o Strong SQL skills for database querying.

o Familiarity with GIS standards and data formats (e.g., GeoJSON, KML, WMS, WFS).

o Experience with version control systems like Git.

o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

o Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
