About the Role:
As a Placement Associate supporting the ITI ecosystem, you will play a crucial role in strengthening the career pathways of trainees by coordinating with placement officers, institute management, industry partners, and youth. Your primary responsibility will be to improve placement outcomes, enhance employability readiness, and foster meaningful industry partnerships. You will also play a key role in institutionalizing placement practices, supporting data tracking, and facilitating events and industry engagement initiatives at the institute level.
Key Responsibilities:
● Timely submission of monthly and quarterly reports.
● Consolidate placement and workshop reports.
● Submit reports on time for review meetings and enter the details in the database in a timely manner.
● Ensure all the relevant data is available on time.
● Build a robust employer network via calls and meetings For Gujarat, For Placements, Collaboration, MOUs Employers, Course content consultation and for participating in state events such as Round Tables etc.
● Working closely & Supporting line manager in planning placement strategy & organising Placements related activities at institutes with collaborations of institute TPOs/JAPOs.
● Support in organizing placement officers training.
● Ensuring agreed % work transition in VTI/ITI.
● Ensuring agreed % learners in Tech Based Jobs.
● Ensuring agreed % of female placements.
● Onboard and engage with green sector organizations for work transition and for different stages of learners.
● Conducting Orientation on placement processes, systems & best practices to new joiners in the state.
● Working in accordance with the MOU for the region & supporting in executing the plans accordingly.
● Follow up with alumni for job opportunities and share current updates across ITIs and polytechnics (as needed).
● Conduct Aspiration Mapping of the learners of the state.
● Mobilize candidates for events, walk-ins, interviews etc.
● Organize Industry Expert Sessions & Placement Session for the state.
● Coordinate, plan and manage placement drives and job fairs (as needed).
● Conduct Dip Check and prepare reports of the same.
● Ensuring timely preparation of various placement reports.
● Follow-up pre- and post-placement activities.
● Facilitate job readiness Sessions at institutes like Interview skills, resume check- giving feedback (as needed).
● Drawing a calendar for each institute and focus on the following activities -resume writing, bringing employer FAQs from interviews to the classroom, and accompany students for market scans and industry visits (as needed).
● Organizing industry exposure visits for learners in collaboration with the institute.
● Sharing of planned activities with internal and external stakeholders.
● Collection of placement evidence of learners & timely updation of their placement status on central sheets.
● Presenting placement data in L4.
● Supporting various program activities that are organized in ITIs such as Family Engagement, Alumni meet etc.
● Regularly visiting ITIs for catch-ups with TPOs/JAPOs.
● Effective utilization of tech-based solutions for work transition and automate the process.
● Provide direct support to placement officers and institutes to improve student placement processes.
● Co-design and conduct employability skills sessions including resume writing, interview preparation, and workplace readiness.
● Facilitate job drives, industry talks, and employer interactions for ITI students.
● Ensure regular follow-up with placed students and document outcomes.
● Build effective working relationships with ITI principals, placement officers, and trainers to drive shared placement goals.
● Support institutes in forming or strengthening placement cells and building staff/student ownership for career services.
● Ensure MoU-aligned placement targets are being tracked and met across ITIs.
● Identify and engage local and regional employers for internships, apprenticeships, and placements.
● Map relevant industries as per student trade backgrounds and employment trends.
● Support planning and execution of Career Connect events, employer sessions, and exposure visits at the institute level.
● Build and maintain relationships with employers to ensure repeat engagement.
● Collect, verify, and update student-level data including enrollment, placement, dropout, and alumni outcomes.
● Ensure timely sharing of data with M&E teams using agreed tools and formats.
● Document success stories and institute-level best practices related to placement.
● Ensure that all event data (session plan, attendance, report, photographs) is submitted within the timeline
● Work with internal teams including M&E, Communications, Training, and Partnerships to enable program success.
● Share field insights, learner needs, and feedback from employers to inform strategy.
● Participate in team meetings, reviews, and organizational learning spaces.
● Be flexible to support additional employability and placement-related tasks across ITIs and programs as needed.
● Contribute to innovation and experimentation pilots in employability design and industry alignment.
● Track alumni stories and post-placement engagement efforts as part of long-term impact measurement.
Requirements
Required Attributes:
● Graduate degree in Social Work, Management, HR, or a related field.
● Freshers / 1-2 years of experience in placement coordination, recruitment, youth skilling, or working within the ITI or vocational ecosystem.
● Experience working with government institutions, skilling programs, or NGOs preferred.
● Willingness to travel extensively across districts and regions.
● Placement process knowledge and experience engaging with industries.
● Strong coordination and relationship management skills with institutions and partners.
● Experience in delivering employability or soft skills training.
● Comfort with data collection and reporting tools.
● Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
● Ability to work with diverse stakeholders across institutes and geographies.
● Self-motivated, organized, and result-oriented.
● Passion for youth empowerment and the skilling ecosystem.
● Adaptability to evolving program needs and a collaborative mindset.
Required Skills & Competencies
● Experience in delivering or supporting Placement activity.
● Training facilitation and team capacity-building skills.
● Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint
● Analytical thinking with the ability to draw insights from data.
● Ability to contextualize content for local needs.
● Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
● Willingness to travel frequently
Benefits
Salary: The pay band for the position starts at Rs.25,000/- per month (cost to company) (The salary offered will be commensurate with the experience and expertise of the candidate)
