Lead Backend Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Lead Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Python, cloud platforms, and backend systems architecture. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building scalable backend solutions, implementing secure authentication mechanisms, and leading technical initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead backend development efforts, ensuring scalable, efficient, and maintainable code.
  • Design, implement, and optimize RESTful APIs in alignment with OpenAPI standards.
  • Work with PostgreSQL to design complex queries, optimize indexing, and improve database performance.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate and manage applications within AWS services such as EKS, S3, IAM, Route 53, and Cognito.
  • Utilize Docker for multi-stage builds, container optimization, and security best practices.
  • Implement and manage secure authentication systems including JWT-based token management and OAuth 2.0/OIDC flows.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring best practices are followed.

Requirements:

  • 6–8 years of experience in backend development with proven leadership experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and strong understanding of modern language features.
  • Deep expertise in PostgreSQL with hands-on experience in query optimization and performance tuning.
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful API design and OpenAPI standards.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services (EKS, S3, IAM, Route 53, Cognito).
  • Expertise in Docker including multi-stage builds, optimization, and container security.
  • Strong understanding of authentication and security, including JWT, OAuth 2.0, and OIDC.
  • Ability to join immediately.
