Job Summary:

The CNC Lathe Machine Operator is responsible for operating, programming, and maintaining CNC lathe machines to produce high-quality precision components. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC lathe machines to manufacture components as per technical drawings and specifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Set up machines, including tooling, fixtures, and materials, for production runs.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure precision and quality.
  • Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to meet specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines.
  • Inspect finished products using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) for quality assurance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues.
  • Maintain production records and report any defects or malfunctions.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical certification preferred.
  • Proven experience operating CNC lathe machines.
  • Knowledge of G-code programming and CNC machine operations.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and tolerances.
  • Skilled in using measuring and inspection tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
  • Exposure to noise, oil, and machinery.
  • May require standing for long periods and handling heavy materials.
  • Shift work may be required depending on production schedule.

Reporting & Communication:

  • Reports to the Production Supervisor or Manufacturing Lead.
  • Communicates machine issues, production status, and safety concerns effectively.
