
Bar Manager

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of our bar. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a proven track record in managing high-volume bars or similar establishments. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of customer service, managing staff, inventory control, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for Guests.
Key Responsibilities: Operations:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the bar, including opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, as well as local liquor laws.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area at all times.
- Monitor bar ambiance, music, lighting, and guest satisfaction.
- Manage POS systems and cash handling procedures.
Staff Management:
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise bar staff, including bartenders and barbacks.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching or disciplinary action when necessary.
- Promote teamwork and maintain a positive working environment.
Customer Service:
- Ensure an exceptional guest experience through high-quality service and attention to detail.
- Address customer concerns and resolve complaints promptly and professionally.
Inventory & Ordering:
- Manage inventory levels of beverages, garnishes, and bar supplies.
- Coordinate with vendors for timely ordering and deliveries.
- Conduct regular stocktakes and minimize waste and shrinkage.
Menu Development:
- Collaborate on cocktail and drink menu creation, pricing, and seasonal updates.
- Train staff on new offerings and ensure consistency in drink preparation and presentation.
Financial Oversight:
- Monitor bar profitability and work within budgetary guidelines.
- Track sales and implement strategies to increase revenue (e.g., promotions, events, happy hours).
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Bar Manager or in a similar leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of bar operations, mixology, and beverage trends.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic financial reporting.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing events or private bookings.
- Knowledge of local suppliers and beverage trends.
- Social media or marketing experience for promoting bar events or specials.
