JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a passionate Animator cum Rigger Intern to join our gaming team for a 6-month internship at Xogar Games. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in creating high-quality prop and character animations and developing flexible rigs for in-game implementation. As an intern, you will collaborate closely with 3D modelers, game designers, and developers to ensure seamless integration of animations into game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine.

Key responsibilities

  • Create high-quality animations for characters, vehicles, and props for in-game implementation.
  • Develop and maintain flexible, efficient character rigs for smooth animations.
  • Work closely with 3D modelers, game designers, and developers to ensure seamless integration of animations into the game engine.
  • Optimize rigs for real-time performance while maintaining visual fidelity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve rigging and animation issues.
  • Assist with motion capture clean-up and implementation (if applicable).
  • Ensure all animations adhere to gameplay mechanics, technical constraints, and artistic vision.

Required Skills

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Animation, Game Design, Computer Graphics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max for animation and rigging.
  • Understanding of animation principles (timing, weight, anticipation, exaggeration, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of rigging techniques (inverse kinematics (IK), forward kinematics (FK), skinning, and deformations).
  • Familiarity with game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine (preferred).
  • Some experience Advanced Skeleton for rigging is must.
  • Experience in HIK system in Mocap Animation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, creative team environment.
  • A portfolio showcasing animation and rigging work (required).
