About the Role - Energy Management Systems (EMS) Specialist for Hybrid Power Plants. As a EMS Specialist, the person shall possess strong knowledge in Energy management system for isolated or hybrid power plant systems. Design and Integration of EMS for Hybrid Power Plants: Lead the design and implementation of Energy Management Systems (EMS) for hybrid power plants combining PV, BESS, and wind energy, ensuring seamless integration with control systems for optimized performance and grid compliance.

Communication and Control System Management: Manage the integration of communication protocols (IEC 61850, Modbus, DNP3) for hybrid energy systems, overseeing master-slave setups and ensuring reliable data exchange and control between systems and the grid. Grid Code Compliance and Performance Monitoring: Ensure EMS configurations meet grid code standards for voltage regulation, frequency control, and fault ride-through. Regularly test and monitor system performance to ensure compliance with dynamic grid conditions and regulatory requirements.

Vendor Coordination and System Configuration: Work closely with vendors to select and integrate EMS controllers, ensuring scalability, reliability, and compatibility with the overall system design. Lead efforts to ensure all system components meet local and international standards for grid integration. Technical Leadership and Stakeholder Collaboration: Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring effective collaboration with internal teams, external contractors, and grid operators to optimize EMS systems, improve energy management, and ensure smooth commissioning and ongoing supportSystem Integration and Optimization: Collaborate with project teams to ensure EMS configurations are compatible with system requirements, grid code compliance, and project specifications.

Oversee communication integration for hybrid systems, ensuring reliable data flow between PV, wind, BESS, and grid systems, particularly focusing on Hybrid Power Controllers (HPC) and Primary Power Controllers (PPC). Controller Selection and Evaluation: Select and specify EMS controllers based on technical, operational, and financial requirements. Evaluate controller technologies and collaborate with vendors to select controllers that are reliable, scalable, and meet grid code and integration requirements.

Integration with Plant Control Systems: Collaborate with design, engineering, and commissioning teams to integrate EMS with other control systems such as SCADA, protection relays, and inverters. Ensure all systems are functioning according to design specifications and communicate properly with grid operators. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelors in Electrical EngineeringStrong technical knowledge in the integration of hybrid power systems, including PV, BESS, and wind energy technologies.

Proficiency in energy management systems, control algorithms, and programming languages (C, C++). Familiarity with grid code standards and communication protocols (IEC 61850, Modbus, DNP3). Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, vendors, and grid operators. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare detailed technical reports and documentation. Leadership experience and the ability to mentor junior team members.
