You will be involved in the post-production process to ensure films or videos are completed on time and in great quality post mixing and including all the special effects .

Film Editor Job Description, Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Working closely with the Post production team you will be responsible editing and mixing of the visual and audio recordings  
  • Analyzing the client artist's "groove", or "style", and catering technicalities to their taste
  • Identifying the most important elements (tracks or combinations of tracks) of a sound to emphasize
  • Determining how to emphasize the tracks, which often entails de-emphasizing other tracks
  • Fine-tuning the final mix for client's approval and final release
  • Working with materials like video camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics, and special effects to create a completed film or video product.
  • in charge of the editing, effects, and rendering of video motion pictures.
  • This is a crucial position in the post-production process and your abilities will have an impact on the final product's quality and timeliness.
  • You will take directions from the film editor, film director, producers, and other team members.
  • You'll use a variety of software to edit and mix  such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro or Avid Media Composer. Removing or changing audio, or making color corrections.
  • To create an attractive sequence, you may have to add transitional effects such as fades and dissolves between scenes to provide smooth transitions for the audience from one section of the film to another.
  • choose and place sound effects and music that support the mood of the scene, and glue it all together with seamless editing that makes each scene flow into the next.
  • Ensure that all the visual and audio elements of the film are consistent, correct, and complete
  • Prepare the movie for its theatrical release or other commercial showing.
Candidate Profile:
  • A degree in film, video sound or a related field
  • Strong editing skills using video software, such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro or Avid Media Composer
  • Knowledge of digital cinematography and the post-production process s
  • Time management abilities and the ability to function well under pressure are a must
  • You should have an interest in film making techniques, and the art of mixing and.
