About the Role:

The Lead Product Designer (Individual Contributor) will be responsible for using design thinking to solve complex problems & ship high-fidelity designs for new features & prototype solutions. You will be working collaboratively with cross-functional partners like product management, engineering and business in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do:

  • Work on high priority and high visibility complex product designs.
  • Single-handedly drive designs and oversee the strategic and tactical deliverables related to that project.
  • Coordinate and plan with other functions. Manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Identifying the appropriate UX methods and tools to use depending on project constraints.
  • Contribute to our growing design system of patterns in an effort to cultivate a cohesive look and feel, and user experience across the entire Flipkart platform.
  • Coach, provide guidance and feedback to designers around design quality.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Design, HCI, Psychology or any other related field with minimum 8 years of experience in Product design or UX roles.
  • Empathy and advocacy for users, in all areas of work.
  • Deep understanding of the design process, experience using UX prototyping tools, as well as relevant fundamental knowledge of front-end technologies to understand the constraints of the design.
  • Extraordinary UI design abilities that can be demonstrated through current projects.
  • Thinking in terms of design systems and reusable components.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Experience in mentoring or managing a small team of designers is a plus.
