Work you'll do

Roles & Responsibilities:

Join Deloitte's Cyber practice as a Snowflake Specialist, where you'll leverage modern data platforms and engineering skills to support secure, scalable, and innovative solutions for our clients. You'll work at the intersection of cloud data warehousing, cybersecurity, and advanced analytics—helping organizations manage, protect, and derive value from their data.

• to support cyber analytics, monitoring, and reporting.
• for data extraction, transformation, and analysis within Snowflake environments.
• , integrating Snowflake with Python for advanced data processing and automation.
• to understand data requirements and translate them into secure, scalable Snowflake architectures.
• using GitHub and related DevOps practices.
• , leveraging GitHub Actions, AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar tools.
• to ensure robust, high-performing, and secure data solutions.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Snowflake: Proven track record in designing, implementing, and managing Snowflake data warehouses.
• Strong SQL skills: Ability to write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries.
• Python expertise: Experience connecting Python to Snowflake (e.g., using Snowflake Connector for Python), and developing stored procedures in Python or SQL.
• Stored Procedures: Ability to write and maintain SPs in both Python and SQL within Snowflake.
• Data Engineering Experience with PySpark: Demonstrated ability to build, optimize, and maintain scalable data pipelines using PySpark for large-scale data processing.
• Data Ingestion: Skills in ingesting data from diverse sources (structured, semi-structured—JSON).
• Client-Facing Skills: Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Documentation: Experience creating technical documentation and runbooks.
• Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Scrum or Kanban for project delivery.
• Implement and manage orchestration workflows for data pipelines using tools such as Apache Airflow, AWS Step Functions, or similar platforms.

Value Added Skills

• Data Security: Experience with Snowflake's security features (role-based access control, masking, encryption).
• Audit & Monitoring: Ability to implement auditing, monitoring, and alerting within Snowflake.
• ETL/ELT Tools: Experience integrating Snowflake with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Apache Airflow, Apache Spark).
• Streams & Tasks: Experience with Snowflake's native automation (Streams, Tasks) for real-time or scheduled data processing.
• Query Optimization: Deep understanding of Snowflake's query profiling, clustering, and partitioning.

Good to Have Skills

• Cloud Data Engineering: Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure) for data engineering and deployment.
• Code Migration & Maintenance: Familiarity with GitHub for source control, code reviews, and collaborative development.
• CI/CD Pipeline Development: Experience setting up automated pipelines using GitHub Actions, AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or equivalent.
• Data Warehousing Concepts: Understanding of star/snowflake schemas, ETL processes, data modeling, and performance optimization.
