About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Analyst to join our growing team. In this role, you will be the critical link between our pharmaceutical commercial clients and our Project Analytics delivery teams, ensuring that our solutions effectively address their unique business needs and challenges. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of pharmaceutical commercial operations through technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Engagement & Needs Assessment:

  • Proactively engage with pharmaceutical commercial stakeholders (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Commercial Operations, CRM teams) to understand their business processes, challenges, and strategic objectives.
  • Conduct in-depth workshops, interviews, and data analysis to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements for new software features, enhancements, and custom solutions.
  • Translate complex business problems into clear, concise, and actionable functional and non-functional requirements.

Requirements Management & Documentation:

  • Develop comprehensive documentation including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), Use Cases, User Stories, process flows, and wireframes.
  • Utilize tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar for requirements management, traceability, and collaboration.
  • Manage requirement changes throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring proper version control and communication.

Project Lifecycle Support:

  • Act as a subject matter expert during the development, testing, and deployment phases.
  • Support Quality Assurance (QA) teams in developing test plans and validating that developed solutions meet business requirements.
  • Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) by providing guidance, clarifying requirements, and addressing user feedback.
  • Contribute to training materials and user documentation.

Market & Industry Insight:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes (e.g., GxP, HIPAA, GDPR), and emerging technologies within the pharmaceutical commercial landscape.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation within client organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience as Business Analyst, with a strong understanding of the life sciences and bio-pharma industry. Comfortable with commercial processes, data, analytics and pharma dataset (e.g. sales data from Iqvia, Symphony, Komodo, etc., CRM data from Veeva, OCE, etc.)
  • Expertise in requirements gathering techniques (interviews, workshops, use cases, user stories) and proficiency in creating detailed documentation (BRDs, FSDs, process flows, wireframes).
  • Proven experience working with clients in the Pharmaceutical Commercial domain (e.g., Sales Force Automation, CRM, Marketing Automation, Sales Operations, Incentive Compensation, Data Analytics for Commercial teams).
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, data mining, and data visualization tools. Expertise in advanced analytics techniques, including machine learning, artificial intelligence, and predictive modelling.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Experience with requirements management tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, etc.).
  • Awareness of programming languages such as R or Python; familiarity with SQL for database management; experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, etc., understanding of statistical modelling techniques. Conceptual understanding of cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical or biotech industry regulations and compliance requirements like HIPAA, CCPA, SOC, etc.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
  • Attention to details, biased for quality and client centricity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching skills.
