Job Description:

A mechanical engineer designs, develops, tests, installs, and maintains mechanical systems and machinery. Their responsibilities involve applying principles of physics and mathematics to solve engineering problems, creating innovative products, and improving existing machinery to meet various industry needs. This can include working on everything from small components and engines to large-scale systems like power-generating equipment or building services such as HVAC and escalators. 

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Design & Development: 
    Researching, designing, and developing new mechanical components and systems, including machines, tools, and engines. 


  • Analysis & Testing: 
    Analyzing the performance of mechanical systems, conducting simulations and experiments, and performing field testing to ensure functionality and safety. 


  • Manufacturing & Production: 
    Overseeing the manufacturing processes, ensuring designs are implemented effectively, and developing prototypes for testing. 


  • Installation & Maintenance: 
    Directing the installation of mechanical equipment and systems and creating maintenance plans and procedures to ensure continued operation. 


  • Project Management: 
    Working with clients and managers to agree on budgets, timelines, and specifications, and assessing project requirements. 


  • Problem-Solving: 
    Identifying, evaluating, and resolving malfunctions, anomalies, and technical challenges in mechanical systems. 


  • Collaboration: 
    Working with cross-functional teams, including other engineers, to implement operating procedures, ensure design feasibility, and contribute to strategic decision-making. 


  • Documentation: 
    Creating technical documentation, equipment specifications, and detailed drawings for various projects.
