The candidate must have prior experience working in an industry association, trade association, or chamber of commerce, specifically within the Electrical and Electronics industry. The role requires strong stakeholder coordination skills, familiarity with government and regulatory interfaces, and the ability to manage member interactions and committee activities. Excellent communication, documentation, and organisational abilities are essential. Knowledge of sector-specific standards, policies, and industry issues will be an added advantage.
Role & responsibilities
This position is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the smooth functioning of Product Divisions, which include divisional activities (meetings, issues, follow-ups, Seminars and Conferences, Technical Committee activities, knowledge papers, etc.), sector-specific surveys and reports, and special Industry focus issues for the IEEMA Journal.
1. Divisional Operations & Coordination
- Ensure smooth end-to-end functioning of assigned Product Divisions through systematic planning and execution.
• Coordinate divisional meetings, prepare agendas, collate background notes, draft minutes, and diligently track follow-ups to closure.
• Support the implementation of annual divisional work programmes and strategic priorities.
2. Member Engagement & Services
- Act as the primary interface for division members, addressing queries, providing updates, and supporting their participation in all divisional initiatives.
• Engage with members to understand technical, commercial, and policy concerns impacting their product segments.
• Facilitate increased member involvement in committees, meetings, consultations, and industry events.
3. Government Liaison & Public Policy Support
- Assist in engagements with government ministries, regulatory bodies, standards authorities, DISCOMs, utilities, and other public sector entities.
• Support preparation of policy submissions, industry representations, consultation responses, and follow-up actions.
• Track relevant policy developments, regulations, and notifications and brief members as required.
4. External Stakeholder Coordination
- Maintain strong working relationships with manufacturers, EPCs, testing agencies, certification bodies, academia, and industry experts.
• Facilitate stakeholder consultations, technical interactions, and collaborative initiatives as part of divisional activities.
5. Issue Identification & Resolution Support
- Document and prioritise industry issues faced by members, including technical, commercial, regulatory, and market-related challenges.
• Coordinate discussions, task groups, and follow-ups to support the resolution of key industry issues.
• Maintain a structured issue-tracking mechanism for transparency and timely escalation.
6. Technical Committee & Standards Support
- Support the functioning of Technical Committees by coordinating meetings, consolidating inputs, and preparing drafts and technical documents.
• Assist committees in developing viewpoints on standards, specifications, testing norms, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure all committee activities are aligned with divisional objectives and industry priorities.
7. PVC & Statistical Services Coordination
- Facilitate data collection, verification, and dissemination related to PVC indices and industry statistics.
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of all datasets shared with members or government bodies.
8. Knowledge Papers & Industry Insights
- Contribute to the preparation of knowledge papers, industry briefs, sectoral updates, and thought-leadership articles.
• Coordinate with academia, subject-matter experts, and member organisations for high-quality submissions to the Associations journal and publications.
9. Events: Seminars, Conferences & Conclaves
- Support planning and execution of divisional events, including seminars, conferences, technical workshops, and industry conclaves.
• Coordinate speakers, content development, technical sessions, and member engagement to ensure high-quality and impactful events.
• Assist in post-event documentation, feedback analysis, and follow-up implementation.
10. Exploration of New Work Domains
- Assist in identifying emerging technologies, new regulatory areas, industry trends, and potential areas of collaboration with government and stakeholders.
• Support introductory studies, proposals, and liaison activities for new initiatives under the division.
11. Reporting, Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare ATRs, monthly activity reports, divisional updates, and documentation for internal and external circulation.
• Maintain complete, organised, and updated records of meetings, correspondences, follow-ups, policy submissions, and committee deliberations.
