SAP Consultant

About the Role :

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated SAP BTP Integration Suite Consultant to join our technology team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Integration Suite, capable of leading complex integration projects, providing technical guidance, and driving process improvements. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Expertise and Project Delivery :

- Design, develop, implement, and monitor robust and scalable integration solutions primarily using the SAP BTP Integration Suite (formerly SAP Cloud Platform Integration/CPI).

- Demonstrate strong proficiency in various integration patterns, adapters (e.g., SOAP, REST, OData, SFTP, JDBC, SuccessFactors, Ariba), and security protocols within the SAP BTP environment.

- Apply a deep understanding of application development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps) and best practices to ensure high-quality and maintainable integration solutions.

- Leverage expertise with diverse integration tools and techniques within the SAP ecosystem, including knowledge of SAP ECC/S/4HANA interfaces (IDocs, BAPIs, Proxies) and related technologies.

- Ensure solutions adhere to industry standards and best practices for cloud-based application development and deployment.

Leadership and Collaboration :

- Act as a decision-maker for the immediate team, setting technical direction and priorities for integration development activities.

- Engage with multiple functional, technical, and business teams to understand requirements, define integration strategies, and contribute on key architectural and implementation decisions.

- Provide innovative and effective solutions to complex technical problems, not only for the immediate team but also for integration challenges encountered by cross-functional teams.

Quality and Process Improvement :

- Proactively troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues and performance bottlenecks in existing and newly developed integrations.

- Continuously evaluate and improve development, testing, and deployment processes (CI/CD) to increase efficiency, reliability, and speed of delivery.

- Ensure all integration artifacts are thoroughly documented and follow best practices for logging, monitoring, and error handling.

Mentoring and Development :

- Mentor and coach junior team members on SAP BTP Integration Suite tools, integration concepts, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques to enhance their skills and knowledge.

- Foster a culture of technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning within the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- Experience : 5 to 13 years of total experience in SAP technology, with a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in SAP BTP Integration Suite (CPI).

- Must-Have Skills : Expert-level proficiency in SAP BTP Integration Suite, including the use of Integration Flows (iFlows), message mappings, Groovy scripts, and security configurations.

- Strong understanding of REST, SOAP, OData, JSON, and XML data formats and communication protocols.

- Experience with API management and building API proxies in SAP API Management is highly desirable.

- Familiarity with other SAP BTP services (e.g., Cloud Foundry, Custom App Development, Event Mesh) is a plus.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing global team.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
