Python KDB Senior Engineer

Role: Python KDB Senior Engineer

Experience: 5 to 8 Years

Location: Noida, Gurgaon, Pune

Work Mode: Work from Office (3 days/week currently; expected 5 days/week once hybrid is phased out)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer with strong expertise in KDB+/q and Python (or C++/Java) to design and develop scalable, high-performance trading and analytics systems. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with financial markets data, algorithmic trading stacks, and low-latency systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect databases using KDB+/q for high-performance time-series data management.
  • Develop solutions using Python (or C++/Java) with at least 2+ years of relevant programming experience.
  • Work with equities algorithmic trading stacks, transaction data, and FIX protocol.
  • Manage market, transaction, and reference data across multiple asset classes (Equities, FX, Futures, Indices, Options, etc.).
  • Integrate and process data from various market data vendors' APIs.
  • Build and optimize low-latency, high-capacity infrastructure (e.g., Solace).
  • Manage software development lifecycle including build, deployment, and monitoring using JIRA, Git, Jenkins, Geneos (ITRS), and scripting languages.
  • Deliver pre- and post-trade analytics, including Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) reports.

Required Skills

  • Strong experience with KDB+/q database design and development.
  • Proficiency in Python (knowledge of C++/Java is a plus).
  • Experience in financial services/trading systems.
  • Knowledge of FIX protocol and market data APIs.
  • Exposure to low-latency/high-performance messaging systems.
  • Hands-on with DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, JIRA, Geneos, scripting).
