Job Title: Splunk Admin The Splunk Admin plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the Splunk environment within an organization. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background in information technology and experience with the Splunk platform, combined with a passion for tackling complex technical problems. The role involves not only administrative responsibilities but also proactive support for analytic initiatives, which include developing dashboards, alerts, and optimizing searches. With the growing demand for data analytics, a competent Splunk Admin is essential for leveraging data insights to drive business success. Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and configure Splunk Enterprise in a distributed architecture.
  • Monitor and maintain Splunk performance and health.
  • Implement best practices for Splunk data ingestion.
  • Develop and maintain Splunk dashboards and visualizations.
  • Optimize Splunk searches to ensure fast and efficient data retrieval.
  • Assist in security and compliance initiatives via Splunk data analysis.
  • Manage Splunk user access controls and roles.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for Splunk-related issues.
  • Collaborate with IT teams for integration with other systems.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation related to Splunk usage.
  • Conduct training sessions for internal users on Splunk functionalities.
  • Perform upgrades and patch management for Splunk applications.
  • Use Splunk to monitor system performance, detect anomalies, and analyze logs.
  • Manage alerting and reporting configurations for monitoring events.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Splunk Admin or in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Splunk architecture and functionalities.
  • Strong experience with Splunk configuration and management.
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar.
  • Experience in data analytics and reporting best practices.
  • Knowledge of network security principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
  • Experience with ITIL framework is a plus.
  • Relevant Splunk certifications (e.g., Splunk Certified Administrator) preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with data sources like APIs and databases.
  • Attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and security.
