Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Payroll specialist to manage payroll operations for a large workforce exceeding 5000 employees. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Compensation & Benefits, income tax, statutory compliance, and payroll systems. This role requires precision, confidentiality, and a strong understanding of Indian labor laws and tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
Administer end-to-end payroll for over 5000 employees across multiple locations.
Ensure accurate and timely salary disbursement, including bonuses, arrears, and adjustments.
Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, exits, and status changes.
Income Tax & Statutory Compliance:
Calculate and deduct applicable taxes (TDS), Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), and other statutory contributions.
File statutory returns and ensure compliance with government regulations.
Coordinate with auditors and government agencies during inspections and audits.
System & Data Management:
Use payroll software (e.g., ADP, SAP, SuccessFactors) for processing and reporting.
Ensure data integrity and confidentiality in payroll systems.
Generate payroll reports for finance and HR departments.
Employee Support:
Address payroll-related queries and resolve discrepancies.
Provide pay-related documents such as salary slips, Form 16, and verification letters.
Educate employees on payroll policies and statutory deductions.
Collaboration & Reporting:
Work closely with HR, Finance, and Compliance teams to ensure accurate data flow.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports.
Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
10+ years of experience in India payroll administration, preferably in large organizations.
Strong knowledge of Indian tax laws, labor regulations, and statutory compliance.
Experience managing payroll for 5000+ employees is highly desirable.
Certification in payroll (e.g., CPP or equivalent) is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
Proficiency in payroll software and MS Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
