Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Bengaluru for a Senior Pipeline Engineer. The Senior Pipeline Engineer will be responsible for performing engineering calculations, designing pipeline systems, focusing on pipeline integrity, and managing corrosion control. The role includes a hands-on approach to ensuring pipeline safety and compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Pipeline Engineering and Pipeline Design
- Proficiency in managing Pipeline Integrity and Corrosion
- Experience with Engineering Calculations
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and industry standards
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Previous experience in the oil and gas industry is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Calculations: Perform calculations related to pipeline design, including
wall thickness, thermal expansion, buckling, and other related engineering concerns.
Report Preparation: Draft detailed technical reports in Word, documenting
calculations, methodologies, and results for client and internal review.
Design Basis Compliance: Ensure all designs meet the required design basis and
industry standards, working under the guidance of senior engineers.
Collaborative Work: Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, to ensure
comprehensive project development.
Quality Assurance: Review and validate calculations, ensuring accuracy and
adherence to project specifications.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized records of all calculations,
reports, and design documents.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, standards, and
technologies relevant to pipeline design.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed drawings and plans for pipeline projects using AutoCAD.
Prepare Alignment Sheets and Typical drawings of Offshore and Onshore Pipelines.
Prepare Overall Field layout and Route drawings and Riser drawings.
Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for mapping and analysis.
Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure designs meet
specifications and standards.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of project documentation.
Work under the supervision of Lead Engineer for the project with effective
communication with Engineers and Designers.
Required Skills:
Problem Solving: Ability to analyze complex problems, break them down into
smaller components, and develop effective solutions.
Mathematical Proficiency: Solid foundation in mathematics, including calculus,
algebra, and physics, tailored to the engineering field.
Engineering Fundamentals: Familiarity with essential engineering concepts and
principles, with a focus on civil or mechanical engineering as applicable.
Quick Learner: Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm to learn new skills quickly
and apply them effectively in the workplace.
Ethical Standards: Adherence to ethical standards and commitment to professional
behavior in all aspects of work.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain
technical concepts, collaborate with colleagues, and present ideas clearly.
Organizational Skills: Effective organizational abilities to manage tasks, prioritize
assignments, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Desirable Skills:
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with engineering software tools commonly used
in pipeline design, such as AutoCAD and Abaqus.
Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in
calculations and report preparation.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, contributing to
collaborative project efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Civil Engineering / Petroleum Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in pipeline engineering for onshore and offshore projects.
- Experience with EPC / Oil & Gas / Petrochemical / Energy sectors preferred.
