Location: Vadodara/ Bangalore/ Chennai/ Hyderabad/ Pune

Shift: Split shift (11am 8pm or 2pm 11pm IST)

About the Role:

Ascendion is looking for a
Global Category Leader
to oversee supplier governance, compliance, and performance excellence across all procurement categories. This role ensures vendors deliver consistent quality, innovation, and value in alignment with contractual and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead governance frameworks and category strategy (IT/Professional services/ Marcom/Travel)
  • Establish and develop category playbooks for indirect procurement categories
  • Responsible for vendor performance across indirect categories.
  • Define and monitor vendor scorecards, SLAs, and KPIs to ensure operational excellence.
  • Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
  • Identify category performance gaps and drive corrective actions.
  • Develop escalation and issue-resolution processes to manage vendor risk and compliance.
  • Lead supplier audits, benchmarking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and Procurement teams to enforce compliance and contractual adherence.
  • Drive supplier innovation, sustainability, and cost efficiency through structured governance.
  • Lead the team of buyers of the category.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in vendor governance, supplier relationship management, or procurement operations.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills for vendor performance evaluation.
  • Expertise in contract compliance, SLA management, and supplier risk mitigation.
  • Experience with global supplier ecosystems, preferably in IT or professional services domains.
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain/B.Tech, or a related field; certifications such as PMP is preferred.
