Control Manager- Associate

JOB DESCRIPTION

Control Management maintains a strong and consistent control environment through a joint accountability model that aligns managers with each function and region to mitigate operational risk. The team focuses on four areas: Control Design & Expertise, Risks & Controls Identification/Assessment, Issues & Control Deficiencies and Control Governance & Reporting.

As a Control Management Senior Associate within the Control Management team, you will be responsible for maintaining a sustainable and disciplined end-to-end control environment for the line of business. You will identify and escalate issues with urgency and collaborate with the Business to ensure timely remediation. The team supports top-down risk analysis, real-time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide operational risk guidance and leadership support for the end-to-end execution of the Risk & Control Self-Assessment, including control breaks and resolutions, to reduce financial loss, regulatory exposure, and reputational risk.
• Identify, assess, advise, and drive strategic solutions to increase efficiency and create a more resilient operating environment.
• Ensure effectiveness of key controls and lead communications with regulatory and audit bodies, both internally and externally.
• Oversee governance of business operational risks, escalating issues appropriately to line of business and Firmwide operating committees.
• Collaborate with senior business clients and partners across functional areas (e.g., Legal, Finance, Compliance, Risk) and geographies.
• Conduct frequent side-by-sides with the business(es).

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 5 years of experience in financial services industry with background in controls, audit, quality assurance, operational risk management, or compliance
• Proficiency working in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• A curious mind that prefers to go deep to understand details.
• A positive attitude and team spirit with exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills.
