Job Purpose

To originate, structure, and manage lending and investment opportunities in the infrastructure sector by providing customized financial solutions to corporate clients. The role involves building and maintaining strong client relationships, evaluating project and corporate financing requirements, and ensuring portfolio quality and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Relationship Management

  • Originate new business opportunities in the infrastructure sector (roads, power, renewables, ports, airports, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with large corporate and institutional clients, project developers, and government entities.
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities across banking products debt, treasury, trade finance, and investment banking.

2. Credit Assessment & Structuring

  • Conduct financial analysis, credit appraisal, and due diligence for new and existing clients.
  • Structure complex debt products including term loans, project finance, refinancing, acquisition finance, and structured bonds.
  • Prepare and present credit proposals to internal committees, ensuring alignment with the bank's risk appetite.

3. Transaction Execution

  • Lead end-to-end deal execution including documentation, financial closure, and post-disbursement monitoring.
  • Liaise with legal, risk, compliance, and treasury teams to ensure timely deal closure.
  • Negotiate term sheets and facility agreements with clients and counterparties.

4. Portfolio & Risk Management

  • Monitor portfolio performance and ensure early identification of stress indicators.
  • Manage asset quality through proactive engagement with clients and appropriate remedial actions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, RBI regulations, and sector-specific guidelines.

5. Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Track developments in infrastructure policy, PPP frameworks, and regulatory environment.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify business opportunities.
  • Contribute to sectoral strategy and business planning for the infra & structured finance vertical.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of infrastructure finance, project finance, and structured lending.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial modeling, credit appraisal, and deal structuring.
  • Excellent relationship management, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to assess complex financial structures.
  • High level of integrity and ability to work under tight deadlines.
