Job Summary
The Senior Business Intelligence Consultant will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering scalable business intelligence solutions that enable data-driven decision-making.

This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders to translate complex data requirements into intuitive dashboards, reports, and analytical insights using Microsoft Power BI and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements from stakeholders.
  • Build and optimize data models using DAX, Power Query (M), and best-practice star schemas.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources including SQL Server, Azure SQL, APIs, Excel, and cloud platforms.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance optimization of BI solutions.
  • Implement row-level security (RLS) and manage Power BI Service workspaces, datasets, and gateways.
  • Provide actionable insights through advanced analytics, KPIs, and visual storytelling.
  • Support Power BI governance, security, and deployment standards.
  • Mentor junior BI developers and conduct design and code reviews.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and business teams to support enterprise analytics initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot performance, refresh, and data issues in production environments.
  • Document solutions, data definitions, and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, with 5+ years of hands-on Power BI experience.

Strong Expertise In

  • Power BI Desktop & Power BI Service.
  • DAX (advanced calculations, time intelligence).
  • Power Query (M language).
  • Data modeling and dimensional modeling.
  • Proficiency in SQL (complex queries, performance tuning).
  • Experience with Azure data services (Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data warehousing.
  • Knowledge of security, governance, and best practices in BI implementations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
