We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled SSRS Developer to join our Business Intelligence team. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), focusing on the design, development, optimization, and deployment of complex, high-performance reporting solutions that drive business decisions. This role involves close collaboration with stakeholders and the ability to mentor junior developers.

If he has worked on SSRS using DB as PostGRES would be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Report Development & Design

  • Design & Develop: Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of complex reports, dashboards, and visualizations using SSRS (including Tablix, charts, maps, sub-reports, and drill-through/drill-down capabilities).
  • Data Sourcing: Write, debug, and optimize complex T-SQL or PostGRESQL queries, Stored Procedures, Views, and User-Defined Functions for efficient data extraction from various sources (OLTP, OLAP, and Data Warehouses).
  • Advanced Features: Implement advanced features such as parameterized reports, report subscriptions, mobile reporting, and security configurations within the SSRS environment.

Optimization, Maintenance, and Leadership

  • Performance Tuning: Proactively identify and resolve reporting and database performance bottlenecks, particularly concerning slow-running queries and report rendering times.
  • Code Review & Standards: Establish and enforce best practices and coding standards for all report development across the team; perform peer code reviews.
  • SSIS/ETL (Preferred): Collaborate with or actively develop ETL solutions using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to ensure data availability and quality for reporting purposes.

Collaboration & Analysis

  • Requirements Gathering: Work directly with business analysts and stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Operations, Sales) to accurately translate complex business requirements into technical reporting specifications.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all reports, data sources, and deployment processes.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers on the team.

Essential Technical Qualifications

  • Experience: [5]+ years of professional experience in report development, with a minimum of [3]+ years specifically focused on Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Database & SQL: Expert-level proficiency in T-SQL programming, including complex joins, window functions, and performance optimization techniques (query plans, indexing).
  • SSRS: Advanced knowledge of the SSRS architecture, Report Server configuration, and deployment strategies.
  • Data Models: Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema), and relational database design.
  • Tools: Experience using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Visual Studio / SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), and Report Builder.
  • Source Control: Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps).
