We are seeking a
Senior Application Support Engineer
with expertise in Calypso to join our team.

You will provide technical support and ensure smooth operation of the Calypso platform across trade lifecycle processes. This role involves working closely with business users to resolve issues and support system enhancements. Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for technical support inquiries from front office, middle office, and operations teams
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues throughout the trade lifecycle including trade capture, pricing, risk, confirmations, settlements, and reporting
  • Perform daily health checks and monitor end-of-day and start-of-day system processes to ensure platform stability
  • Support updates to static and reference data, handle workflow queries, and manage trade lifecycle events
  • Manage incidents and service requests within agreed service levels, escalating issues to internal IT or vendors as necessary
  • Assist in user acceptance testing, regression testing, and functional validation for system upgrades, patches, and new releases
  • Provide training, documentation, and guidance to users to improve platform utilization
  • Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and contribute to ongoing service improvements
  • Support small change activities and participate in software development life cycle processes from requirements to production deployment
  • Maintain deployment pipelines, preferably using Azure DevOps
  • Automate routine tasks and system checks using shell scripting
  • Write SQL queries and understand Calypso database structures
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols including certificate management, multi-factor authentication, encryption, and vulnerability patching
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and effectively manage stakeholder relationships

Requirements

  • Experience of 5 or more years providing Calypso technical support within banking or financial services
  • Background in front-to-back trade flows and familiarity with key Calypso modules such as trading, back office, and accounting
  • Knowledge of at least two asset classes including FX, money markets, fixed income, derivatives, repo, equities, or collateral
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in messaging frameworks and related infrastructure
  • Experience with software development life cycle processes including requirement gathering, development, deployment, and maintenance
  • Understanding of security requirements including certificate creation, enabling multi-factor authentication, encryption, and vulnerability patching
  • Capability to build and maintain deployment pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps
  • Skills in shell scripting to automate repetitive tasks
  • Ability to write SQL queries and familiarity with Calypso database tables
