Job Title: MERN Stack Developer (Backend-Focused, 1–2 Years Experience)

We are seeking a Backend-Focused MERN Stack Developer with 1–2 years of hands-on experience. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in server-side development with , , and MongoDB, and is comfortable integrating with frontend teams to build complete web applications.

Note: While the role may involve some frontend tasks using , the primary focus is backend development and API design.Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure backend systems using , , or NestJS.
  • Build and optimize RESTful and GraphQL APIs with TypeScript for production-grade applications.
  • Design efficient MongoDB schemas with proper indexing, aggregation pipelines, and integration with Mongoose ODM.
  • Implement real-time backend features using WebSocket (Socket.IO) or Server-Sent Events (SSE).
  • Integrate with frontend applications built on /
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable backend code following SOLID principles and design patterns.
  • Implement authentication and authorization using JWT, OAuth 2.0, , or Supabase/Auth0.
  • Set up CI/CD pipelines, Docker containers, and basic deployment workflows.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers, UI/UX designers, and other backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to architectural decisions.

Required Skills & Qualifications (Backend Priority)

Backend Core (Highly Required)

  • and / NestJS (REST & GraphQL)
  • Database: MongoDB (Aggregation, Indexing, Replica Sets), Mongoose
  • Language: JavaScript (ES6+) / TypeScript (Advanced Types, Generics, Utility Types)
  • API Layer: REST & GraphQL (Apollo Server or tRPC)
  • Authentication: JWT, OAuth 2.0, , Clerk / Auth0 / Supabase Auth
  • Experience with real-time backend technologies (WebSocket, SSE)

Frontend (Optional / As Needed)

  • (Hooks, Context API)
  • 14+ (Server Components, App Router, Streaming SSR)

Other Must-Have Skills

  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and time/space complexity
  • Proficient in Git workflows (branching, PRs, rebasing)
  • Solid grasp of HTTP, REST principles, and web security (CORS, CSP, XSS, CSRF)
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum and tools like Jira or Linear

Nice to Have

  • Experience with WebAssembly (WASM) or Edge Functions (Cloudflare Workers, Vercel Edge)
  • Knowledge of Microservices or Event-Driven Architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
  • Familiarity with AI integration (OpenAI API, )
  • Contributions to open-source or personal projects on GitHub
