E-Commerce Job Description (JD) Role Overview

The E-commerce professional is responsible for managing and optimizing online sales channels, ensuring smooth digital operations, enhancing customer experience, and driving revenue growth through online platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Website & Platform Management
  • Oversee daily operations of the e-commerce website and marketplaces (Amazon, Flipkart, Shopify, etc.)
  • Ensure product listings are accurate, updated, and optimized for search visibility
  • Coordinate with IT/design teams for website enhancements and troubleshooting
  • Product & Inventory Management
  • Upload and maintain product catalogs with correct descriptions, images, and pricing
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with supply chain/warehouse teams
  • Manage promotions, discounts, and seasonal campaigns
  • Digital Marketing & Sales Growth
  • Plan and execute online marketing campaigns (SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing)
  • Analyze traffic, conversion rates, and sales performance
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to drive customer acquisition and retention
  • Customer Experience & Support
  • Ensure smooth checkout, payment gateway, and order fulfillment processes
  • Handle escalations related to online orders, returns, and refunds
  • Improve user experience through feedback and analytics
  • Analytics & Reporting
  • Track KPIs such as sales, traffic, conversion, and customer engagement
  • Prepare weekly/monthly performance reports
  • Recommend strategies for growth based on data insights
  • Vendor & Marketplace Coordination
  • Liaise with marketplace account managers for promotions and compliance
  • Negotiate with vendors for better margins and product availability
  • Ensure adherence to marketplace policies and standards

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
  • Experience in e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, Amazon, Flipkart, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing tools (Google Analytics, Ads Manager, SEO tools)
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel/BI tools
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage deadlines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18, ₹35,742.82 per month
