Roles and Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning:
- Partner with the GEHC Workday HR and IT teams to build a long-term technical roadmap for Workday.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Identify opportunities to optimize and improve existing Workday functionalities.
Solution Design:
- Conduct feasibility assessments and provide technical recommendations or review recommendations provided by the AMS partner.
- Assess up and downstream impact and work effort for proposed Workday changes/enhancements/projects.
- Collaborate with the HR team and Functional Product Managers to identify Workday product gaps/issues and partner with AMS partner and Workday to resolve those to meet GEHC's requirements.
- Assess technical needs for introduction of new modules.
- Convey a clear vision to delivery teams with a prioritized set of technical requirements captured as features and user stories.
- Collaborate with AMS partner to design technical solutions that meet business requirements.
- Ensure adherence to technical standards, best practices, and security protocols.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Coordinate system dependencies between the HR product areas and ensure alignment to release goals.
- Partner with functional owners, stakeholders, and IT teams to balance business needs, technical debt, timelines, and budget.
- Present technical concepts, project updates, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to foster collaboration and drive alignment.
- Represent IT in Workday-related discussions, aligning technology needs with platform capabilities, while also integrating Workday innovations into IT workflows.
Operations:
- Provide L2/L3 support and guidance for production issues where our AMS provider needs help in resolving issues.
- Define scope of operational initiatives. Develop appropriate plans to mitigate the issues and maintain stable operations.
- Develop, standardize, and sustain daily management systems based on metrics to deliver on product goals.
- Regularly review operational metrics such as uptime, resource utilization, integration monitoring, performance, technical ticket SLAs, problem ticket resolution, etc.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up to date with Workday product updates, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, optimize workflows, and enhance system performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maximize the value and effectiveness of Workday solutions.
Education Qualification
Bachelor's degree in computer science or "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with minimum 5 years of Workday experience.
Desired Characteristics
- Workday certification in HCM, Recruiting, Talent & Performance
- Strong knowledge of Workday functionalities, modules, and integration capabilities.
- Proficient in configuring and optimizing HCM modules within Workday, with deep knowledge of Recruiting, Talent & Performance, and Document Management workflows.
- Proven experience in Workday process design, configuration, implementation and operation management.
- Knowledge of business, and HR processes and practices.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Passion for user experience and simplification.
- Promotes innovative technologies and transformative processes, collaborating effectively with both functional and technical stakeholders to envision, design, and deliver impactful solutions.
- Demonstrated expertise in authoring comprehensive application configuration, functional, and technical design documentation.
- Garners direct and "behind the scenes" support for ideas, and leverages chains of indirect influence
- Ability to proactively identify and remove obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity
- Excellent time management skills for holding teams accountable for meeting product deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience leading and influencing across a complex, global matrix organization.
