Job Summary

The Electrical Designer will be responsible for preparing electrical design drawings, layouts, and documentation for projects in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. The role involves coordination with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient, safe, and cost-effective electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematics, wiring layouts, and panel schedules.
  • Prepare electrical load calculations, cable sizing, and voltage drop calculations.
  • Design lighting, power distribution, grounding, and earthing systems.
  • Create detailed drawings using AutoCAD / Revit / other design software.
  • Ensure designs comply with IEC, IS, NEC, and other relevant standards.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural, and mechanical teams for seamless integration.
  • Assist in preparation of Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical specifications.
  • Support engineers in site visits, inspections, and resolving design issues.
  • Review vendor drawings and ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Maintain documentation and revision control for all design deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in electrical designing (freshers with strong skills can be considered for junior roles).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEC, IS).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with LEED , IGBC certification or sustainable design practices.
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows.
  • Experience in design-build environments like residential , commercial , hotels, industries, educational, hospital buildings.
  • Familiarity with software like ETAP, Dialux, or E-Plan.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with occasional site visits.
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • May require travel to project locations or client meetings.
