MAUI Android Lead

We are initiating the establishment of an additional team dedicated to the Future User

Experience (FUX) project, which serves as the application for client counters across

Germany. This application is utilized by approximately 30,000 users daily and has

been operational for 20 years. The application undergoes functional enhancements

with 3-4 major releases each year. Currently, two development teams are engaged in

the continuous improvement of FUX, which is built on the C# programming language

and .NET technology. The user interface has been redesigned using MAUI

technology.

In addition to these two teams, we have a third team, the mobile team, focused on

migrating the existing FUX desktop application to Android. The key responsibilities of

Adjusting the foundational architecture to ensure compatibility with Android

mobile devices.

Developing modules within the application to meet mobile-specific technical

requirements (e.g., database integration, mobile printing, etc.).

Creating a new UI/UX layer that enables the utilization of existing business

functionalities on mobile devices.

The primary objective of this migration phase is to develop a unified software product

that predominantly relies on a common code base, ensuring functionality across both

mobile and desktop platforms.

Requirements for the New Team

To enhance the capabilities of our mobile team, we intend to establish a new team

comprised of highly skilled professionals based in India. The main challenge for this

new team will be to gain a comprehensive understanding of the existing application,

including its business requirements and technical constraints, while ensuring the

migration of the common code base remains compatible with the Windows

environment.

Currently, we lack definitive architectural decisions, necessitating that design

considerations be addressed during the development phase. Consequently, we are

seeking a team that can analyze and articulate individual migration challenges and

devise technological solutions. Problem-solving skills and adaptability to new

challenges are critical success factors for our existing teams.

The FUX application enables our partners to sell products and deliver services to end

customers at client shops throughout Germany. To successfully develop a new mobile

UI/UX layer, the team must quickly establish a thorough understanding of the existing

business processes.

Team Composition and Expectations

We are requesting proposals for a team of 5-6 members. We do not require a team

leader for coordination; instead, we expect a technically proficient lead developer to

guide the team in problem-solving efforts. The teams will engage in ongoing

communication and collaboration with our existing team members, necessitating

excellent communication skills and experience working in large international teams.

Testing is not part of the team; we have our own team within the FUX project that is

responsible for test automation and manual testing. Of course, developers are

responsible for the functionality of their components and should ensure this through

unit tests.

Requirements

• Experience: At least 8-10 years of experience in software development, with

proven experience in leading development teams.

• Technological knowledge:
• Extensive knowledge of C# and Android development.
• Experience with modern software architectures (e.g., microservices).
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and services (e.g., Azure).
• Knowledge of migrating desktop applications to mobile platforms.
• Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to overcome technical

challenges.

• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
• Experience in creating technical documentation and architecture

specifications.
