What's the role?

As a Jewellery Designer at NEK by Jar, you will lead the creation of innovative, high-quality jewelry collections and bespoke designs that reflect NEK's unique design philosophy. You'll work closely with clients, artisans, CAD designers, and cross-functional teams to bring concepts to life - from initial sketch to final product - blending creativity, precision, and storytelling into every piece.

What will be your responsibilities?

• Design original jewellery pieces for seasonal collections and custom client requests.
• Translate creative direction and moodboards into sketches, renderings, and technical drawings.
• Work with high-end and bridal clients to understand their vision and deliver bespoke designs.
• Collaborate with CAD designers and production teams to ensure technical feasibility and design fidelity.
• Review and approve CAD files and prototypes, ensuring design quality and finish.
• Lead or participate in brainstorming sessions for new collections and design directions.
• Maintain well-documented archives of all design concepts, revisions, and inspirations.
• Stay updated on trends, techniques, and materials to drive innovation.
• Coordinate with marketing, operations, and customer teams for product launches and custom order fulfillment.
• Mentor junior designers and ensure brand alignment across all design output.
• Represent NEK at client meetings, events, and exhibitions if required.

What's required from you?

• Minimum 3–4 years of experience in jewelry design, with exposure to both premium and commercial segments.
• Bachelor's degree in Accessories or Apparel Design (B.Des or equivalent), preferably from NIFT, NID or another reputed design institute.
• Strong sketching and rendering skills with the ability to bring abstract concepts to life.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with working knowledge of CAD workflows.
• Deep understanding of gemstones, precious metals, and production techniques.
• Ability to interpret client requirements into customized design solutions.
• Comfortable working with high-end clients including bridal and celebrity clientele.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence in client-facing conversations.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage documentation.
• Capable of working cross-functionally with design, production, and marketing teams.
• A self-starter with a sharp aesthetic sense and awareness of current jewelry trends.
• Prior experience mentoring junior designers or managing design quality is a plus.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
