About the Role

We are hiring a seasoned Database Administrator (DBA) Manager / Sr. Manager for a leading European Energy domain client. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in MS SQL database administration, database security, performance tuning, backup & recovery, and high availability solutions.

This is a strategic leadership role involving end-to-end ownership of enterprise databases, ensuring availability, scalability, and performance while leading DBA best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration (MS SQL): Manage installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and optimization of MS SQL databases.

Database Design & Implementation: Lead database design, modeling, and architecture aligned to business and application needs.

Database Security & Compliance: Implement and monitor access controls, roles, permissions, encryption, and audit compliance.

Performance Monitoring & Tuning: Optimize queries, indexes, configurations, and resource utilization for improved efficiency.

Backup & Recovery: Develop and execute backup strategies, point-in-time recovery, disaster recovery (DR), and failover readiness.

Maintenance & Lifecycle Management: Handle indexing, archiving, and data lifecycle tasks for performance and storage optimization.

Troubleshooting & Incident Resolution: Lead resolution of database bottlenecks, corruption, connectivity, and high-priority escalations.

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed SOPs, database diagrams, audit documents, and performance/capacity reports.

Team & Stakeholder Management: Mentor junior DBAs, collaborate with development/infrastructure teams, and manage vendor escalations.

Preferred Candidate Profile

10–12 years of MS SQL DBA experience with leadership responsibilities.

Strong knowledge of database architecture, administration, backup & recovery, and high availability solutions.

Hands-on with database design, data modeling, and performance tuning.

Familiarity with enterprise-scale monitoring tools and optimization methodologies.

Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Certifications (MCSA / MCSE in SQL Server) preferred.

Experience in energy/utility domain projects is a strong plus.
