Head Information Technology

Location: Pune / Chakan Plant & Corporate Office

Reports To: Managing Director

Role Purpose

The IT Head will lead the technology vision, execution, and governance for OEM Industry India, ensuring that all IT initiatives support business growth, operational excellence, and alignment with global standards. This includes driving SAP Implementation operations, IoT-enabled manufacturing, telematics for construction equipment, and cybersecurity readiness in close collaboration with Global IT.

Key Responsibilities

1. IT Strategy & Governance

  • Define and implement the India IT roadmap in line with Company Global digital transformation strategy.
  • Ensure adherence to HQs IT governance, architecture, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Identify emerging technologies (AI, IoT, analytics) for manufacturing efficiency and customer service enhancement.

2. Enterprise Applications & Data

  • Lead SAP ERP (ECC/S4HANA) operations, upgrades, and integration with MES, PLM, and Dealer Management Systems.
  • Manage IoT-enabled equipment tracking and telematics solutions for sales, service, and aftermarket.
  • Drive analytics and reporting platforms (Power BI/Tableau) for management decision-making.
  • Maintain data integrity, master data governance, and business intelligence systems.

3. Manufacturing & Plant IT Systems

  • Oversee implementation and support of MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) for plant operations.
  • Support Industry 4.0 initiatives including machine connectivity, predictive maintenance, and automation projects.
  • Integrate plant control systems (SCADA, PLC) with ERP and global monitoring platforms.

4. Infrastructure, Cloud & Security

  • Manage hybrid IT infrastructure (on-premise + Azure/AWS cloud).
  • Lead cybersecurity initiatives: firewalls, endpoint security, SOC integration, and incident response.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, Indian IT Act, and global security policies.
  • Oversee disaster recovery and business continuity planning.

5. People, Vendors & Budget Management

  • Lead and develop IT team across corporate, manufacturing, and regional offices.
  • Manage vendor relationships for hardware, software, network, and telecom services.
  • Ensure cost control, budget adherence, and value-driven IT investments.

6. IT Compliance and Audit

Required Skills & Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing IT ecosystems (ERP, MES, PLM, telematics, IoT).
  • Strong SAP functional & technical understanding with large-scale rollout experience.
  • Hands-on experience in telematics and connected equipment solutions.
  • Knowledge of global IT compliance, governance, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and change management abilities.

Preferred candidate profile

Education & Experience

  • B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science / IT / Electronics; MBA preferred.
  • 1520 years of progressive IT experience in manufacturing/OEM, with at least 5 years in a senior IT leadership role.
  • Exposure to working with global IT teams, preferably China-based OEMs or multinational manufacturing companies.
