Design Engineer - Electrical

Location:
Kurla, Mumbai

Job Summary:

We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. The primary focus will be on Electrical Designing, encompassing the sizing of electrical equipment, load calculations, and system designs for commercial and residential projects. The role also involves supporting Plumbing and Firefighting design and drafting, which will account for approximately 20% of the responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities: Electrical Design (80%):

· Develop and draft electrical system designs using AutoCAD, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.

· Perform load calculations and size electrical equipment, including transformers, UPS, DG sets, panels, and other components.

· Handle HV & LV cable sizing, voltage drop calculations and prepare detailed cable schedules.

· Conduct short circuit calculations and system stability analyses.

· Design lighting systems for projects using Dialux, ensuring compliance with lighting standards.

· Perform earthing and lightning protection system designs, including calculations.

· Prepare detailed technical documentation, including BOMs, calculation reports, and design drawings.

· Collaborate with project stakeholders to address design challenges and integrate electrical systems with other MEP disciplines.

Plumbing & Firefighting Design (20%):

· Support the design and drafting of plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and sewage systems.

· Assist in the design and drafting of firefighting systems, including sprinkler layouts, hydrant systems, and pump sizing.

· Ensure Plumbing and Firefighting designs comply with relevant codes and regulations.

· Coordinate with the Electrical design team to ensure seamless integration of all MEP systems.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer or similar role in MEP projects.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD).
  • Strong knowledge of MEP principles, systems, equipment, and components.
  • Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to MEP design and installation.
